In a Moment

In a moment,
Somewhere a life is lost,
Somewhere a life begins.

With a cry, wheels of life are set in motion,
And somewhere with a sigh, a life ends.

A cry that, for some, begins a new dawn,
filled with endless hopes and happy dreams.

A sigh, that for some becomes a cry,
as A journey of dreams, hopes and efforts ends.

Moments come and go by,
In this circle of Life,
Time moves on without standing still,
and Life walks along hand in hand,
without pausing for breath.

In this constant tug of war,
between Death and life,
Where in a moment I find,
Death staring back from the face of life,
Or life smiling at you, while waving death goodbye.
I stand doing my best,
Not to fight Death,
but to give back life it's strength,
To fight away Death with  all it's might,
And begin again it's unfinished journey.

In this circle, taking tiny steps
I walk along all alone,
Creating my own destiny,
While still searching my road.

This is awesome stuff. It rhymes for couple of lines. The essence is damn good. I don't understand how you people write these poems.

Keep up the good work

first, i won't write what came to my mind initially when i read this because for that a little context setting is necessary

second, n this is that context setting...it is my personal definition of creativity, maybe u'll agree, maybe u won't.

a creative piece for me is that which tells what the author/poet.dancer/painted wanted to tell me. but is has also got a second meaning. for it to become a true creative (for me at least!) it has to inspire me to do something of my own, its like a positive domino effect, it must inspire me to creativity.

third, n ths is not a formality, i really liked this poem. yes it could have been crafted better (and i've nt read ani_aset's version, 'cos he shud nt hav posted it here), so, yes, it cud have been crafted bttr, but my two parameters of creativity whch i mentioned above are met here. i love it because it tells me what u r thinking, n it inspires me to write a few lines of my own.

and these are those lines, that came to my mind initially (n in Hindi) and i dedicate them to u, as an observer when you have stopped nararating your poem...

these are for you meeta,

ज़िन्दगी और मौत के इस मंच पर
मैं खड़ी हूँ यहाँ
यादें चुने हुए
सूत्रधार बने हुए

@adee thanx for sharing your views in detail.
I agree with your definition of creativity though i do relax the criteria's at times..bt they'r the same three parameters.
Anirudh posted his views 'cuz i asked him to..infact he'd asked me to delete it after reading..bt i felt that readers should have both the versions.
Crafting is my weak point..but i'm working on it..hopefully it will improve with time.
And thanku vei much for u'r beautiful verses..they give me a good feeling and encouragement to keep writing.
after readin u'r verses this thought came to my mind..
I do feel like a sutradhar..who through her poems tries to keep alive the memories of those lives that were cut short by the snap of death..mayb this is the reason why i dwell with life and death in my poems so much.
